Darrell Osadchuck - CEO
Born and raised in Vegreville, Alberta, received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Minor in Finance from The University of Calgary in 1998.
Darrell commenced his business career in the insurance business, which led to his Mutual Fund License and then completing the Canadian Securities Course, which lead to Darrell becoming a stock broker. As a stock broker, Mr. Osadchuk was engaged in the consulting and capital raising aspects of private equity businesses for both private and publicly traded corporations. Darrell’s services have included consulting on marketing plans, planning strategic roll-outs, and arranging financings. Darrell’s understanding of the capital markets has played a key role in the move forward plans and financings of many companies. As well, Darrell actively manages a portfolio of his own assets, family assets, and, in the past, those assets of some multi-million dollar portfolios. Mr. Osadchuk continues to provide consulting services to public and private companies as an advisor.
David Rankine - COO
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1994. Mr. Rankine commenced his business career in Consumer Packaged Goods with General Mills, one of North America’s largest food companies and was transferred to Toronto in 1998 where he led General Mills’ National retail sales team. In 2003 Mr. Rankine decided to leave the Consumer Packaged Goods industry and return to Calgary where he joined a land development company which exposed him to the exempt securities market. Mr. Rankine then completed his Canadian Securities Course in 2009. In 2010 became a founding partner of a new Exempt Market Dealer. Mr. Rankine was instrumental in growing the dealership in two years from a start up venture to a business with approximately 45 independent dealing representatives and over $75MM in sales. In February 2012, Mr. Rankine left the dealership to focus on creating and managing exempt market securities, which resulted in his current involvement in Zyng Corp and Zyng Technologies. Mr. Rankine has been a resident of the USA for the purposes of advancing the business in the United States.
Bartek Jankowski - CFO (fractional)
Bartek Jankowski has been hired as Zyng’s Chief Financial Officer. The role is initially as a fractional CFO until Zyng’s expansion drives the need for a full-time position. Bartek has 20-plus years of leadership and financial experience and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from the University of Calgary.
Since 2020 Bartek has operated his consulting firm Mikodur Solutions where he has served in various senior financial reporting roles for several public and private companies in a variety of industries. His involvement has focused on external and internal financial reporting, strategic planning and forecasting, tax planning and compliance, corporate financing, treasury management, and evaluating business opportunities. Before starting his consulting practice, Bartek served as the Controller at Razor Energy, a public oil and gas company, where he built the accounting team and all accounting processes from scratch. There, he designed a dynamic monthly forecasting model that enabled the company to do extensive what-if analysis and was a driving force in implementing a field purchase order system that enabled the company to significantly reduce its operating costs. Before that, Bartek served as the Corporate Controller at TransGlobe Energy, an international public oil and gas company, where he was responsible for all aspects of finance. There, he was involved in five successful corporate acquisitions and one disposition, performing most of the financial due diligence work and managing the post-deal transitions. Bartek was also responsible for all aspects of treasury, including, foreign exchange and cash management, corporate insurance, managing banking relationships, as well as helping negotiate financing agreements. Bartek started his corporate career at Talisman Energy, a large public oil and gas company, where he worked in several progressive financial reporting roles. Bartek articled at Deloitte & Touche LLP Chartered Accountants where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 2000.
Jamie Hodgson - Independent Director
Born in Edmonton in 1971, Jamie attended secondary school at Northwood University outside Dallas, Texas, receiving a BBA in 1992. Jamie operated Southgate Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Hummer in Edmonton, Alberta. Throughout his 22 years there attained many of General Motors’ highest achievement awards for a dealership, including customer satisfaction, top dealer in Canada for Hummer sales multiple times, including ranking in the top 10 for customer satisfaction, sales, and service satisfaction. Jamie served on the Regional Marketing Board (RMAB) and the National Marketing Board (MAB) and represented the dealers in Alberta on the Dealer Communication team (DCT), working with the General Motors Executive team for many years. After the sale of the dealership, Jamie developed a new product from scratch, the “YETI SNOWMX”. He helped design, build, manufacture, and set up a dealer network in Canada, the USA, Europe, and Japan for a dirt bike to snow bike conversion kit. This product line was later purchased by CAMSO. Currently, Jamie serves the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton, as a Strategic Initiatives Consultant, helping with long-term, high-level planning. Jamie is also the CEO of Milron Metal Fabricators in Edmonton, where the company is selling existing products and designing new products for the expansion of the business into the Southwest USA marketplace.
Robert Lesourd - Independent Director
Robert currently resides in Calgary Alberta. Robert attended Oregon State University where he majored in Finance and Minored in General Science. From 2010 to the present day, Robert has been the President of Choya Petroleums Ltd, a Small Oil and Gas Producer. Before that, he was the President and CEO of J.F Mackie and Company from 2000-2009, a boutique securities dealer of which he grew to over $2 Billion in administered assets. The firm provided investment services to high net worth clients and raised capital for small to mid-cap companies looking for access to both private and public markets. In 2010 he became the EVP and Managing Partner of Mackie Research Capital, where he was instrumental in the merger of JF Mackie and Company with Research Capital Corporation. From 1993-2000 Robert assumed many roles with Royal Bank of Canada – Royal Bank Action Direct. Robert was involved in the development and management of the Royal Bank’s Discount Brokerage. Robert was the Regional VP. Prairies Region until 1998 and then moved to Toronto to take on the role of Sr. VP of Sales and Service of the Royal Banks Discount Brokerage. During this time, Robert successfully integrated Action Direct into RBC Dominion Securities. Between 1986 and 1993, Robert held various Management Positions in the retail bank. Over the last 18 years, Rob has held various board positions and still sits on these today. Since 2016 he has held a board position at Paradigm Distribution Inc as well as the Calgary Golf and Country Club, where he is also the President in 2021. In 2010 he was on the board of Tian Land Fund Ltd. From 2008-2010 he was on the IIROC Board and a Member of the HR and Pension Committee. IIROC is a National Securities Regulator responsible for all Securities oversight in Canada. From 2009-2010, Robert was a Director and member of the Executive Committee for Mackie Research Capital Corporation. From 2003-2006, he was a board member of Social Venture Partners, a philanthropic organization that took a venture capital approach to give money back to the community. He was also the Chairman of this board in 2005.
Brian Prokop - Independent Director
Mr. Prokop has over 30 years of diversified resource and capital markets experience and is currently the President & CEO of Electrum Copper Corp. and CEO, UDP, AR & CCO at Link Plan Management Inc. as a licensed Portfolio Manager. Mr. Prokop is currently a Director of Aloha Brands Inc., the CFO of CE Brands Inc., and a Director of Rock Oil Resources Ltd. Mr. Prokop is President & Co-Founder of Smashing Bottles Inc. and Chairman & CEO of Echelon Foods/The Original Turducken Inc. Mr. Prokop served as a Director of Mapan Energy Ltd., Chief Executive Officer of Argent Energy Trust, Vice President, Capital Markets of Daylight Energy Ltd, Director, he also held a senior role in Institutional Equity Sales at National Bank Financial, served as Vice President, Oil and Gas Specialist, Equity Sales at Canaccord Capital Corporation and was a Senior Oil and Gas Analyst at Peters & Co. In addition, Mr. Prokop held various technical and financial roles at Talisman Energy and Shell Canada. Mr. Prokop is a Professional Engineer (Geological, Earth Sciences) and graduated from the University of Manitoba (1983) and received his MBA, Finance from the University of Calgary (1991) and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation
